When you buy a monthly pass it is for UNLIMITED travel between the two stations. If you get an a->d zone pass you can travel all you back and forth between any stops in zone a, b, c, or d. Going to zone E costs one dollar PER TRIP with the pass. F adds two bucks...
The ask the "to & from" question only to make sure that you have the correct zone. You could say Deerfield to Healy or vice verse, doesn't matter, just a way to check the correct zone info.
If you get a PACE link-up you can also ride the bus.

I'm going to be moving to Chicago shortly for a job and will be living in Logan Square specifically but the job is up in Lincolnshire. I am interested in taking the Metra from Healy up to Deerfield and Pace buses to work from there. I have been looking at monthly Metra passes online for this use. If I bought a monthly pass between these two stations, is that one way only (would I need to purchase a pass for the commute home) or can I travel unlimited for the month back and forth between these two stations?
The order form asks what station I would be going to and leaving from so I am worried that it will only allow me one way travel.
Can any other Metra commuters help with this question?
Thanks!
