The Violet Hour is a good place for the see and be seen hipster types. Beachwood (off of you guessed it- wood and beach streets) is a more relaxed hipster bar with un-ironic PBR drinkers.

Man, back in my day, it wasn't hip to wait in a line for a bar or club. When a place had become popular enough for there to be a line, it had become unhip and commercial a long time before, and the hipsters were probably on their second or third successor dive. Guess standards are changing!

Is Violet Hour really hipster-y? I've never been, but I have a co-worker who's really into the whole cocktail thing and he loves that place, but I thought it was supposed to be more yuppie pretentious? Maybe that's just how he is so I assumed his favorite bar would be that way too!
Beachwood = love. Except I wish if they weren't going to take credit that they'd at least get an effing ATM machine. Other than that it's perfect.
