Superdawg is still the best!
Chicago has many great Hot Dog stands, but today I was reminded why Superdawg is still the best in the city. The condiments and uniquely seasoned weiner create a symphony of flavors that is unmatched--even in this great hot dog city! The fries are made ONLY from fresh potatoes, not frozen ones. The malts are great. The carhops remind me of the 1970s. It's just a wondeful place.
Tonight there were people from all walks of life... Teenagers, Soccer Moms, immigrants, working dudes, meathead northwest side 20-somethings... I even saw the head partner of the distinguished architecture firm Skidmore Owings and Merrill hanging out in his Audi. This is a great Chicago place. It's not hurting for business by any means, but we all need to stop in once in a while to make sure this Chicago gem never goes away! Just head to Milwaukee and Devon and look for the dancing hotdogs on the roof! (Though you're supposed to call them "Superdawgs", not "hot dogs").

Superdawg can survive on people from the neighborhood alone. It has, does, and will.
I do not think it was necessary to say "meathead Northwest side 20-somethings". There are plenty of them in every area of Chicago;the Northwest Side does not corner the market on "meatheads." Furthermore, the Northwest side is hardly majority "meathead."
As for Superdawg being the best-well of course it is. I have been going there since I was a toddler for good reason.;-) Not cheap, but well worth the price.
It has been around since the late 40's btw.

No point. It's sort of a 1950's celebration of automobile culture.

To clarify, I'm not saying that all Northwest Side 20-somethings are meatheads. But there was a big contingent of them there tonight jumping on car hoods, hopping around like idiots, and wrestling with each other. They all had backwards-turned Cubs hats, and had a sort of Northwest Side white guy look about them.

The best way is to take Foster to Milwaukee and then take the 270 if possible instead of the 56A-but either works. It should take a hour in non-rush day weekday hours and on day hours on Saturdays.

How do you know they were from the NW side? They could have been from Niles,Morton Grove, Arlington Heights or a variety of NW burbs. Its like Johnnie's-people come from far and wide everyday to get the beef there.
When the weather gets warmer (although tonight is not warm at all lol) and/or it is the weekend these types come from all kinds of burbs to go there. I should know.Believe me.:-0

Speaking of good food, I just ordered Lou Malnati's. I have not eaten it since last spring.
I just discovered the location at Wrightwood and Sheffield delivers as far north as Irving Park and as far west as Western (between Irving and Belmont) and as far west as Ashland (between Armitage and Belmont.) Hooray!
