I like it because I think you build a certain level of trust with that person and the most you can hope for is that they treat your child with love, kindness and protection.

While it is pricey, there's something to be said (at least from my wife's perspective) about her peace of mind.

I agree. I think day care centers are better for kids who are pre-school age and able to socialize. I don't like the way babies are cared for at large day care centers.

hello. i am 6 mo pregnant and looking for in home day care centers for infants in lakeview. i am having a hard time finding them - do you have any names or searching tips on how you found yours? thanks so much!

As mentioned above the NPN Boards are probably the best resource. We also got a number of leads from friends we made at childbirth classes.

People can be very protective of names of home daycare providers. We recently moved our daughter from a great home daycare center to pre-school and had a few friends who were interested in taking the open spot. They were all kind of fighting over the spot, it got kinda crazy.
