Arriving in O'Hare Airport late with kids. Need to get to a hotel in Rosemont quickly so we can go to bed.

I heard that regular taxis at O'Hare don't like to take people to Rosemont and other nearby areas because they don't make much money on that. Is that true? I don't mind giving a really good tip for the ride.

I know I can go upstairs and take Uber/Lyft, but heard it's quite disorganized at O'Hare and is a long walk as well. Again, don't want to waste a lot of time.

The other option was to call one of the taxi services at Rosemont and ask them to pick us up. I am concerned that I will have to wait quite a bit for the car.

Any suggestions?

Yes, I checked, there is a shuttle running every 30 minutes, but looking for a quicker option.

I stayed in a couple hotels in the O'Hare/Rosemont area during my transition here, and they had shuttles to the airport. It's pretty hard to argue with free. But by all means, call a taxi or Uber if a few minutes makes that much of a difference.

CTA Blue Line has a Rosemont stop but it's not very close to the hotels. It seems to be more of a connection point between the Pace buses in the area and the El system.

I'd definitely recommend the shuttles; that's what I've always used for every hotel near an airport I've stayed at.

Otherwise, an Uber/Limo/Taxi is always there as an option, but of course will be an extra cost.

On a side note and won't be relevant to OP's current situation, but apparently a hotel district along the revamped ORD airport train system is a possibility in the future. That would definitely be terrific and convenient if you're staying in one of those new hotels; you can wake up, check out, then literally walk right to the airport tram, and it will take you to the terminals right away. I'm not sure if this is even 100% going to happen, but I've read about it online. That would definitely be a positive for people staying at those hotels near the airport. Atlanta has a similar hotel district connected to the airport train system.

Rather than rushing to Rosemont, just stay at the Hilton at the airport for the night!

If someone is too much of a hurry to not be able to wait 30 minutes for a free shuttle, then they need to relax a little. I dont get how you fly by air and expect to be in a hurry, especially with notorious O'Hare being so busy, the lines you have to stand in will often take more than 30 minutes just to board etc.

Somebody said it.

Especially as if the taxi or Uber is going to be there instantaneously. Hell, the next shuttle might even be there before, depending on exactly when. At best you're saving, what, 15-20 minutes? That's nothing in airport time, especially at one like ORD.

The kids call this "boujee"
