Default Scrutinize your lease + attachments

If this really is a Chicago rental covered by the RLTO, you can scrutinize your lease and all attachments and see if the landlord provided all the required disclosures. As one commenter here stated; in Chicago breaking a lease can be easy. But it isn't always, and the RLTO doesn't always apply. As another commenter said, don't ever just walk away from a 12-month lease and think it'll be allright. If you ever intend to have credit or assets in your life, it won't be allright. Good luck.

Default Inform your landlord

If you are dead set on breaking your lease, talk to your landlord and inform him of your concerns and intentions. some landlords might let you break your lease if you give them a 30 day written notice.

If he doesn't allow it, he might keep your deposit. Legally he can sue you for the remaining of the months on your lease. However that costs money and I would guess most would not bother.
