Favorite Outdoor Places in Chicago
I'm trying to put together a list of places to visit while the weather is completely awesome. So I was wondering what everyone's favorite outdoor places to go in the city, parks, beaches, interesting places to walk around. Whatever makes you happy.
A couple of mine would be:
Berger Park because I kinda don't like beaches, I didn't like them when I lived by the ocean and I don't like them now, but being near the lake is great.
The Garfield Park Conservatory. Technically not outdoors, but outdoorsish. Nice all year, but especially when it's cold. You can take off your coat, smell plants and pretend it's warm outside.

Foster Beach is probably my favorite beach. 63rd St beach is really cool, too. Neat beach house there. Also, immediately behind it is that cool harbor area with a low white building that was once a Coast Guard station, I believe. Around that harbor, it doesn't feel like you're in the city or even in the midwest, really.
I also like the Lurie Garden at Millennium Park. It's a neat peaceful pocket in the middle of the hustle-bustle.
There are lots more. Those were just the ones that leapt to mind.

It funny, I lived near Rosehill and passed Graceland every day for almost 2 years but never visited, despite always being a lover of cemeteries. Now that I live considerably farther away I'll definitely have to check them out.

Anywhere downtown in the summer, really. Im not picky/choosy, as long as its not in a bad neighborhood. lol Im content along the lake or strolling Michigan Ave or hanging out in Wrigleyville or hanging out in Grant or Millenium Park. Summer in Chicago is amazing, no matter where you go IMO.

Even though the water is smelly sometimes I love the swan boats in the South Pond in Lincoln Park Zoo. They're getting rid of them after this summer though so I better enjoy it while they last!
