Edgewater's a few red line stops north of Lakeview. If you find a place close to the red line, the nightlife/entertainment areas of Lakeview/Lincoln park can be easily reached via the Red and Brown lines.

Oh ok so is it an entirely different area then? Like you couldnt just walk from one to the other? What are the Red/Brown lines haha is that like a train or something? Oh+(sorry to be bombarding with questions!)is edgewater a nice neighbourhood so if it is seperate, like would there be places to get jobs etc.

thanks again xxx

Edgewater, Chicago - Google Maps

Check that out. Lakeview, I suppose is centered around Belmont/Sheffield well south of Edgewater.

Uptown is the neighborhood between Edgewater and Lakeview, and it has its rough spots (search uptown on the boards for more info on it.)

The Brown and Red lines are the two main "el" (Chicago's Metro lines) that service the North side. Depending on what type of card you get, its $1.75-$2.00 a ride. You'll be using it a lot, especially if you live in Edgewater.

Edgewater is safe, cheaper than Lakeview, with great lake access and a nice beach. If you can't find anything in Lakeview/Lincoln Park, its a great alternative.

I posted this same thing to another person from Ireland looking for a job:

I forgot about this, but you easily could get jobs at Wrigley Field or U.S. Cellular Field. Also there are other places that you can work. Check my link below. Not the most fun jobs and the pay usually is not super great (but it can be ok if you have a tipped job.) Contact Levy.
