Well i have a friend in wicker park .. i like that area but i dont know how long it will take me to drive to work.... so any similar area which is also safe because i will be living alone.

know what...it's a bad drive as it is with the new construction on the Edens that they just started...

Wicker park is awesome but is really far into the city....I think it's close to the North Ave express thou...

A commute from Wicker Park to Buffalo Grove will be murder. Over an hour, easily. And that's when they're done with construction... in the meantime, probably closer to two.

So what area do you think will be the best so that my commute is like 30-45min.

I think that from Jefferson Park or Edison Park it would be easier to take 294 to LakeCook Rd and I bet that you could do that in about 30-45 minutes as long as you leave before 7:15 am -- work 8am till 4:30 or something and you'd be back home before 5:30. Not a bad way to go at all. From Jeff Park to get to Wrigleyville or what have you on Fridays/Saturdays you'd be no more 30-40 minutes by any combination of bus/El...

Seems like a decent compromise to me.

Yes, if you leave at the right times from the Northwest side it can be done, but it will not be 30-45 mintues everytime.
