Hey guys.... quick question.....

I need to catch a cab from the McCormick Place Convention center at 2301 S Lake Shore Dr to O'Hare airport on Monday. If i left at 6pm what time would i get to the airport? I know that there are many variables, but given it's a typical Monday traffic evening what should i expect?

Thanks in advance!

Matt

That's true, but at 7 o'clock the Kennedy should be relatively clear and it could be 45 minutes. The net result would be a 15-minute difference in arrival time. OP should work the other way -- what time is the flight, and allow worst-case travel and security time accordingly.

This afternoon/evening at 6:10, Gary-Chicago-Milwaukee Corridor shows it's about an hour from downtown to O'Hare. This is about the worst case scenario UNLESS it's raining. Add 15 minutes from McCormick Place to the downtown starting point. So that's an hour and 15. If you allow 30 mins to get through security and shoot to get to the gate 30 mins before takeoff, that'd mean leaving a little before 6.

There is a Cub game Monday at 7:05. Do not let the cab driver take you onto Lake Shore Drive north of Wabash at all for any reason!
