Default Community Projects/Green Things Volunteering Q

I'm new to Chicago (surprise, surprise) and am interested in getting involved in community projects - specifically those geared toward green initiatives/community supported ag. I've been looking around and put in a call to the Chicago Resource Center to try and get involved in one of their projects. However, I was wondering if anyone had any input on the scene. Mayor Daley has obviously made environmental issues a big part of his schtick - how has it been going? Do you feel that Chicago is significantly greener than it was at the start?

Very interested in anything you might have to say on the issue - thanks!

I'm kinda in the same boat, keep your eyes open in the Chicago section of craigslist. I've found some cool stuff in the events/volunteers/and activities sections.

craigslist: chicago classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events
