The Peterson Metra stop on the UP-N was supposed to begin construction in September, but all I've seen is a lone sign on Peterson heralding Fall 2020 groundbreaking and nothing else.

I know the budget was approved, but the rationale for the project was to alleviate overcrowding at Ravenswood. Obviously Ravenswood is not overcrowded now, and may not be for some time. On the other hand, with reduced service now is the perfect time for construction to avoid hassles.

Has the Peterson Metra stop been delayed again, because of coronavirus?

Also just a little background, I have a relative who grew up on Ravenswood just north of the Ridge Ave underpass, and the way he tells it the Peterson Metra stop was going to be put in - in the 1960s!

At least pre-March 2020, the ridership had risen at Ravenswood a lot, where I could see the need for a UP-N station at Peterson. It's a bummer construction hasn't started there, since such a station would be closer for me to get to vs. Ravenswood or Rogers Park. Also, this idea has been thrown around since at least the mid-2010s, when former alderman Pat O'Connor was trying to lobby support for this idea. Interesting to actually learn it's been off and on proposed, since the 1960s! (2 decades before my time....)

I've been wondering about this too. Granted, I'm usually only over that way after dark but it doesn't look like anything has happened, and it seems unlikely they'd start a construction project like this in December. i haven't seen any news updates.

The sign and a porta potty are in place. I expect it to get busier.

Latest news is that permit issues have delayed it. Don't you pull the permit before construction?
