In hotels that I have looked around, it looks like Jacuzzi and Whirpool are available only in suites in these hotels. And these suites are too expensive.

No Sybarises closer to Chicago. It's a suburban chain. There's Ambiance Suites on Mannheim Road in Franklin Park (or maybe Schiller Park), which is near the Chicago city limits. MillenialUrbanist, WOW, thank you! I looked up the Sybaris site which DOES list it as Northbrook... and yet when I google Northbrook, it does NOT extend on the map as far west as Highway 21/45 (Milwaukee Avenue).
I don't know WHAT to believe now!!!
We have, or had one in my area, near Mequon, Wisconsin.
I've honestly never been to one.

It's probably in unincorporated limbo, which is common for Chicago suburbs. It uses Northbrook's postal address, and connects to Wheeling's or Prospect Heights's utilities, but legally belongs to C(r)ook County and not any suburb. Which affects how it's licensed and policed.
I'm pretty sure a wholesome suburb like Northbrook, with great schools, big corporate headquarters, and influential Jewish residents, wouldn't want a cheesy sex hotel on its business roster.

I'm kind of surprised by the whole thing too. The plot is clearly within a B-2 zoning district within Glenview's limits. I remember not understanding the commercials as a young one when they used to advertise. All of you are being too kind. Sybaris is a ***** house where people go to cheat on their spouses.
