Wow, thanks Avengerfire. I'll have to take you to dinner too! Don't go to too much trouble right now, though...probably the soonest I could leave here would be for a July 1st apartment, just because of getting rid of furniture, giving notice at work and with my landlord, etc.

Yeah we were out apartment hunting this week. We found the perfect apartment; it was gorgeous! Only problem? About 15 other people thought it was great too. the guy said he had four calls (one of them mine) in the 10 minutes after he put the ad on Craigslist. He ended up renting it to someone for $1350, $100 more than he was asking for and $75 more than I could pay...

Anyway, my point being that now is the time when all the July 1 properties are being advertised it seems.

It was like sort of like this from my experience last week. Out of the people who I had set up craiglist appointments a few days before coming to Chicago, several of them had the place rented out by the time I got there. From the places I looked at, a few of them had it rented out in 2 days (I looked on Sat, they were gone by Monday evening). So for anyone looking for apartments now, if you find a place you really like, don't wait and definitely jump on it. If you don't find anything, don't worry, more available rooms turn up every day.

I'm trying to look for a roommate to stay with when i move to Chicago this fall and i've been on so many sites and emailed a couple but most haven't even replied back.
ugh its adding pressure on even more.
