Mod cut: Off-topic.

In all my travels to Chicago, I have only had a couple of not-so-pleasant encounters, and they usually involved someone who apparently was homeless/had mental health or personal issues... But when I think of all the positive encounters I had with helping provide food for someone in a homeless situation, it is SURE worth continuing to try!

As you know, I love you Chicagoans! And you are great people. You make it a second home.... I am sorry when I hear that people say they have negative experience when visiting Chicago.

Folks, I've cleaned up the thread. Please avoid chatting and posting off-topic comments. Address the topic in the opening post: "Where would you prefer to live if you were young and new to the city: West Loop, Lincoln Park/ Lakeview, or Wicker Park (or somewhere else)? Why?" Thank you.

Maybe I’m biased because I live here, but I think it’s the best out of the three, with really great access to Logan Square and Avondale (also cool neighborhoods) as well as downtown in the other direction.
West Loop also has one of the best elementary schools in Skinner West.
