Default tired of apartment hunting!

i have been searching craigslist CONSTANTLY. i am an irish student coming to chicago bla bla bla need three month lease jun-end of august. NO ONE is interested in a three month lease and the few (and i mean few) who are always seem to have a reason against renting, "we dont rent to international people," "a three room is too small for five people" or the dreaded "the place has been rented already". i have sent literally hundreds of e mails over the last few weeks and am starting to think i will be standing in o hare thinking "now what"? does anyone know of any other sites that would be of any use? im looking for a place in linc park/lakeview/wrigleyville for five for around 2500 a month.

I think you should consider broadening your neighborhood search. Not to many landlords want to rent for 3 months, however you will find some. A postive note is that summer is moving season, so you might find a vacancy, however you should really consider nearby areas, bucktown, logan square, ravenswood, rosco village, all areas listed are fine. Most landlords will not rent to someone they do not meet in person, for good reason.

Have you considered a hostel?

If you want a 3-month arrangement, you should be looking specifically for a sublet. And there is an ordinance concerning how many unrelated people are allowed to live in a single unit -- you may have to split up into groups of 3 and 2.

How many bedrooms do you want? There are a whole lot more 1-BR and 2-BR places than anything else in the neighborhoods you listed. It would be harder to find a 3-BR or larger. As Drover said, you may want to split up.
