boating in chicago...
Hello everyone -
Since its summer, I'd love to plan a boating trip with a few friends.. maybe around 10 of us..
I'm looking for something chill, maybe rent a boat for the lake, drink a few beers, catch some some sun, etc...maybe even get in the water...
Does anyone have any good recommendations for rentals? Or specific places?
Thanks!!

Call up Cedric Benson. He should be able to tell you all the places to avoid and all the places that are hot.

Haha! Seriously, how hard is it to not drink on a boat to the point your drunk and refuse to put on a vest? Wow, pretty much sums it up for me about his character!

Id be careful if I were you.. fines in Chicago are huge for BUI's and the CPD has Marine units all over Lake Michigan. They will nail you in heartbeat.
You can look up places near the Illinois river in Morris IL, I used to summer in that area and it was a pretty popular area for that sort of thing. You still need to watch your drinking, they have units all over watching for BUI's. Boat, tube, ski but keep the drinking for the beach time. Oh, and I hope everyone is over 21 because Illinois won't hold back if your underage and drinking on a vessel..I was in the Coast Guard Aux in Chicago, and was on the water plenty during the summer.

I think a lot of the charter operations are located in Burnham Harbor. I can't recommend any in particular, but usually you hire a boat and captain and they take you around wherever you want to go. I know they rent and let you operate sailboats, but if you don't know what you're doing I'd let someone who does drive.
If you do have some boating knowledge, the CHicago Park District does some boat rentals - check out their website.

Yeah, but I am sure he boats in Illinois too. I should know since I know him.
I was joking, but it is very possible he does.
