Makes me think they were just squatting.

I read a lot of negative posts about Galewood on this site. However, I feel very safe here and am not aware of much crime, which you can easily find out about on the Chicago Police Department's website. That being said, everyone has to take precautions against becoming a victim no matter where you live.

Aaaaaannnnnnnnnd last night makes 10. Tagged the hood of my car again, only this time the pillock used spraypaint.

Good thing my cars aren't worth squat so I don't have to worry about what hairspray and a scrub sponge does to the finish.

Jesus, buddy! That's about the time when I'd start crouching in the bushes with a paintball gun.

Eh... but yet again, it happened somewhere besides in front of my house. Nonetheless, due to my frequent insomnia, mild nights and a nice back patio to hang out on, I have managed to catch a couple of crimes in progress in my neighborhood. But the amount of vandalism that's gone on around here this summer is just crazy. Several broken windows on my block and sometimes they're not even taking anything; a return of the "break side mirrors off of peoples' cars" jackholes (they got two of my cars a couple years ago);
Spoiler
douche
weasels shooting cars with paintball guns; slashing convertible tops... it's been a crappy summer to own a car on my block. Hell, one girl even got hers stolen. So it's kind of ironic that I was a mile away from home when I got hit.

God knows this Halloween I'm gonna be sitting on my porch until 5am with a handheld floodlight in my lap.

Do you drive a model of car that screams out "douchebag"? Like a Hummer or yellow Jeep with floodlights or something? I've never heard of anyone having this much trouble before. I'm guessing most of it is coming from the same group of kids (at least the incidents in your driveway).

Which neighborhood is this?

We've had some vandalism and a rash of car break-ins in Lincoln Square. The police have been out in full force for one reason or another the last ten days.

I have 5 or 6 different relatives living in Chicago and they haven't ever had any bad experiences with crime that I know of with the exception of my sister's car getting broken into when she lived in wrigleyville. My brother has lived in not so nice areas of uptown and rogers park and the only thing that has happened to him is his girlfriend's car got cream filled water balloons thrown at it. Other than that nothing that I know of....

I drive normal, everyday passenger cars.
