I live in Galewood. It's not Mayberry, but it's still pretty decent. A lot of foreclosures, though. Hate to say it, but it may get some of the riff raff out.

Boy, oh noy....some bad areas. I've been through all of them though...scary stuff man.

Roseland isn't so bad, it's Englewood, ROBbins, Ford Heights, and some parts of Chicago Heights that are absolutely awful.

I'm seriously starting to doubt your knowledge of South Chicagoland. Roseland "isn't so bad"? Are you serious?

It all depends on what part of Roseland she's talking about- Fernwood is still somewhat decent and well kept, but south of 103rd is where the problems start. I do think that Roseland is far worse than the suburbs that was mentioned.

this list changes over time but....

Englewood
West Garfield Park
North Lawndale
Gresham
Austin/ Roseland

Harvey and Chicago Heights brings back memories of my teenhood. I used to run all over these places. Maybe they where better hoods then but I don't recall them being good. It's been a looong time. If I ever get a car I'll have to go drive down memory lane one day.

I had friends in Chicago Heights and I remember a liquor store in Harvey that had no problem serving us kids. We went a lot. Good times.

I think Chicago is the baddest place ever to live in and i will not live there with kids if my life depended on it. Who ever live there is used to all the violence but when me and my family visits its like we always have to watch are back.Sorry Chicago but the people in it make it the worsest place you could ever live in not the city..

^^Did you write this with a dictaphone? I'm not usually one to comment on punctuation and spelling errors (pot calling the kettle black), but christ on a cracker! Hope your kids are getting a fine education in whatever safe haven you call home.
