Default Do any CTA trains come to Union Station?

I'll be coming into Chicago next month, and the Amtrak will drop me off at Union Station. Where do I pick up the CTA Orange Line? Is it nearby? Do any of the trains run through Union Station?

I should know this, as I've been to Chicago dozens of times, but I don't.

Exit Union station at Jackson, walk a few blocks east (over the river). You'll see the elevated tracks going over Wells st. The entrance is just north of Jackson and Wells.

Several different types of lines stop at the QUINCY station on Wells St, north of Jackson Blvd -- be sure you get an Orange line, not Pink, Brown, or Purple...

If I'm taking the blue line down to Union Station, is it best to get off at Clinton? Where do I go from there?

That sounds simple enough, but how will I know which direction is north? East I can obviously figure out once I'm headed north.

The lake will be on your right if you're headed North.

At Clinton the Blue Line will be heading West if you're coming from O'Hare, you can use that to help get oriented. Also on N/S streets the numbers will be going down if you are headed North, on E/W streets the numbers will be going up if you are headed West.

Clinton is a one-way street headed south. Walk the opposite way traffic is heading.

That's good info to know. Seems backwards that if you're heading north, the numbers go down, but whatever.

Thanks!
