The term Professional Engineer is a specific licensure that Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical engineers can earn. Generally it is of value to firms/individuals that contract for engineering services where there is some likelihood of liability in the design of structures and the system inside of them / that serve them such as the infrastructure of a city.

Perhaps you should do spend time with google...

Its way past time to put this to bed, so I'll repeat the substance of what I said once more. Hopefully you will get it this time:

The very first decision that someone needs to make when contemplating a career in computer science is whether to go the engineering route or not. They are different career tracks that may or may not overlap.

If someone, for whatever reason, decides they want to go the engineering route (which CAN and very often DOES include software engineering and computer science, whether Chet chooses to believe it or not), they should go to an accredited engineering school, and in Chicago, UIC is the best bang for the buck.

If someone, for whatever reason, does NOT wish to go the engineering route, they are better served at a place like De Paul, or, as you have correctly pointed out, a community college.

It really is that simple, and if the fact that computer science is taught by the colleges of engineering in Urbana and Chicago bothers you, kindly direct your outrage to President White and the Board of Trustees, not me.

thank you and have a Good Day.
