Heh. Rivalry and Cubs hatred aside, that was a great game.

HA! I was just about to post something about this.
No, I'm not having fun. I am so disgusted.

Ashland Ave (N and S)

I ask because I'm currently living just blocks away from Western Ave., and it's really impressive how diverse the stretch between Division and Chicago Aves. is--lots of working class folks, students, Eastern Europeans, blacks and Hispanics, rich and poor whites. Also, along a somewhat longer stretch of Western, quite a few oldish buildings with vintage signage--old corner bars, Red Hots shops, taquerias, upscale lounges, etc.
However, that's just a stretch of Western--I imagine there are other streets that also wander through the cultural or historical heart of Chicago. So, whaddya say? What street should I drive or walk along here before I leave, so I can get glimpses of the real Chicago, past and present?
