Please Review Before Posting- General Forum Rules
Hello Everyone,
Lately, we have been having numerous violations of the TOS. If you haven't done so already, please be sure to read the City-Data Terms of Service if you read nothing else.
Some of the issues we've been encountering lately are:
Personal Attacks: Be sure you are debating the idea and not attacking the person. This also refers to making personal comments to the other poster.
Responding to violations: DO NOT respond to violations!!!! Instead, report the violations. Also, please consider that we moderators all have jobs and are not on here 24-7. While we will respond to your reports ASAP, please do not continously report the same post. We, or another moderator, will respond!
Staying on Topic: A little off-topic here and there is fine, but let's not abandon the Original Post entirely.
Advertising: We have specific rules for realtors that you can find in the TOS.
Complaining : This is an open forum and people are basically permitted to post here whether or not they still live in Chicago.
As long as the post is not totally off-topic, the poster does have the right to voice his or her opinion, even if you may not agree with it; however, TROLLING is not permitted.
Racially insensitive remarks: It is sad that this has to even be mentioned, but please refrain from making remarks that are hurtful , unkind or racially insensitive.
Calling out moderators: If you have a question about a post that was removed, feel free to contact me or aragx6. Calling out the moderators in the posts will result in another infraction.
Copyright: When you come across interesting articles or pictures on the internet, feel free to post the link to them. Posting an article or a picture that you do not own the rights to is copyright infringement.
