Best Jewel anywhere: 2940 N. Ashland.
The largest beer, wine and liquor selection you will find in any supermarket in the area!
The store is very clean also. It is tops all the way around.
I believe it is Jewels highest store in sales in the market.

Yeah, that one is awesome. Sometimes I'll actually drive there from Buena Park to avoid my crappy Jewel at Broadway and Montrose. But something is going on at my local Jewel lately, and it seems to be improving. I guess that's the benefit of gentrification...

That is Dominick's "organic" line of products -- all natural and with that just-picked (and unwashed) taste.

I don't know why everyone hates Dominck's. The one in Park Ridge is so nice. Underground parking, clean, ok prices, nice people asking you if they can help you. It's always a pleasure going there. Plus I get United miles just for shopping there. The Jewels I have been to are ghetto.

I prefer Jewel for most grocery shopping, but Dominick's is closer to my house (which is a terrible store). I'll hit the Dominick's if I need a quick gallon of milk etc.
I miss living one block away from the small Jewel on Madison in Oak Park. That is a really nice manageable size store.
I'll go to Whole Foods for the great meat and cheeses though.

I've never even heard of "Food 4 Less." Meanwhile, the nearest Cosco is in Niles and the nearest Sam's Club is some 15 or 20 miles from the city limits, so I doubt those are going to get much traction. How many Tony's are there? About 5? Maybe 2 of which are actually in the city?
Do we still have Cub Foods stores around here? What about Butera?
My favorite store in the city is the Dominick's by Cabrini Green. Huge, spacious, great deli and a good selection of gourmet stuff. Too bad it's a PITA to get to from my place. And I really wish there was a Woodman's closer than Huntley and/or Kenosha. I worship Woodman's.

I shop at Jewel since it's close. Pretty bad service, and the lines are always long. A few weeks ago the store was evacuated due to a gas leak. There were ambulances and fire trucks blocking off exits.

By me Dominick's is way better than Jewel!! Not to mention slightly cheaper. But I find the produce better at Dom's and I am picky.
Food 4 Less is a discount Kroger.
I shop Food 4 Less, Dominick's and then Jewel for loss leaders.
