I use Peapod alot because I despise grocery shopping. When I do go to a store, it's either Jewel or Dominick's. I tried Aldi once but the selection is very limited.

Right but it is not an option in the poll which seems kind of silly considering that it is a one of the top 2 chains of grocery stores throughout the Chicago area.

Default I'm a Jewel's Card Cheapie!

I'm a Jewel's Card Cheapie! Like isn't mostly everything at Jewel's expensive unless you get it at the sale price? I shop everywhere else for the other items that are not on sale, and at Jewel's, - I just mostly get their sale items! Are you a Jewel's Preferred Card cheapie too?

I'd shop at Sav A lot, Food4Less, I think it was Dollar General?, Starck & Van Til, Aldi, Walmart, Target, Cermak, and some small independent shops for deals.

a lot of the food in my fridge were BOGO Free deals from Jewel's. if I can't save a minimum of 50%/$1 per item, I don't bother buying it. if something is buy one, get one 50% off/FREE, I stock up (I still have 4 packages of English Muffins that were BOGO Free that I bought in early Feb!)

As far as the larger grocery stores, I really like Jewel and buy nearly everything there. They recently send me a bunch of $8 off coupons.....combined with other coupons and the Jewel card, it's a great deal.

I just go a little bit further down the street and get EVERYTHING cheaper at a local market. I went up to the Rogers Park Fruit Market yesterday and got almost all of my groceries for the week for $22. Of course, I live alone, but still, that's pretty cheap.

I wish I had something like that here. We have a Jewel on Ashland & Milwaukee but it's pretty expensive. I'm thinking about journeying out and getting my produce elsewhere.

I also am a preferred card shopper! taking advantage of those specials, combining the coupons and looking for the catalina printouts at the end of shopping has been great! I encourage you to check out the website of Jill Cataldo. she is from Huntley and teaches a supercouponing class and many local libraries. She is also featured on Johnny B's radio show. She does a lot of shopping at jewel and gives great pointers on how to really capitalize on sales and coupons!

Yeah, that's the Jewel's I live and shop by! - Expensive for all those YUPPIE Wicker Park people! But Marie Callendar TV Dinners are $1.88 each this week! - I stocked up on them!

Go to Food4Less, SavALot, and Dollar General down North Ave all the way to Melrose Park! Aldi will save $$$ too!

For meat and pasta, dry goods etc I would go to the Korean Market on Kimball just north of 90/94 if you live in the West Town area. The place is large and they sell to the other smaller asian markets in the city so the food it pretty drastically reduced. I always get my meat there at a fraction of what I'd pay at Dominicks.
