Wow $99 thats a good deal, I remember back in the '90s when it cost like $250+ for something decent. Are the 5000's energy efficient?

They are much more than they were 10 years ago. Yeah. The one I used the last two summers rocked for a small studio (under 250 feet.)

I honestly just need one for my bedroom, im lucky to have Central air but the air does not reach my bedroom for some weird reason. I have probably like a '91 window unit there but its really starting to fade. But heck its lasted 19 years (and is from sears by the way) so I think it would be safe of me to invest in a decent unit also from sears.

Target has a 5000 BTU on sale for $109 before tax. That one is the same one I used the last two years (it worked very well.) I got mine though for $89 before tax two years ago.

I have yet to turn on the one from Sears that I got today that was $99 before tax (I got the Frigidaire---they also have a Kenmore for the same price.) I will post how well it works after I have it running for a few hours...

BTW---your ducts might need to be cleaned...

Awesome, and you are right I never even considered that my ducts might be dirty. Not only would that be blocking the cold air but also think of all the nasty allergens... bluck
