Default Public Transportation to IKEA in Bolingbrook

I just got back from the IKEA in Schuamburg using the blue line --> 606 PACE --> Woodfield Trolley to IKEA. And I mean, it works, but it got me there in 75mins from downtown. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to get to the Bolingbrook IKEA using public transportation? Is it doable? and if so, would it be shorter than going out to Schuamburg?

Only 75 minutes? That is pretty darn good.

I'm with avengerfire -- that is what about a 20% premium over driving? Pretty impressive, all told.

As to getting to the Bolingbrook location, it is almost certainly a farther total distance. The RTA trip finder does not like the address (not a surprise, happens a lot to me...) but it looks like a Pace 825 route runs to the shopping zone. You would need to get a 855 from Summit to Bolingbrook. Probably CTA buses to Summit, maybe a bus from an Orange line stop? Not much fun getting there from north side or west side -- have to go downtown first.

oh okay, so i guess i'll just have to be satifised with the 75 minutes. I know back in new york they offer a bus to take you to Jersey to go to IKEA. Does IKEA offer a bus service from downtown for this?

Take the Burlington Northern (Metra) to Downer's Grove. From there Pace bus 834 will take you past Ikea.

How dare that link not work!

Pace Bus - A Fresh Approach to Public Transportation

It runs down Janes Ave. to Boughton Ave. There is a stop on the west side of Ikea. Just look for the giant building that resembles the Swedish flag!
