I just want to know what is the average rent price for apartments in Chicago ?

Chicago is a big city, with average rent varying widely depending on the location. So an average rent for the entire city is kind of a meaningless statistic. |

We'd have to know the kind of neighborhood you're looking for. On the whole the average rent is probably far lower than what it costs to live in a decent, moderately safe neighborhood.

There are plenty of high end apts that go beyong 5000 in Chicago

Oh I'm very well aware of that, but the OP said AVERAGE. So ballpark most rents are between about $500 for a studio and $5000 in Gold Coast area with of course some being higher. |
