Whoa re the Cubs playing? If it's not a division rival, tickets should be fairly easy to come by on the street. If you wait until the 2nd inning you might even get them at face value.

They're playing Pittsburg. We saw them a few weeks ago in St. Louis...what a good game....boy were we harassed afterwards in our sea of blue. Online said they are sold-out but that would be a nice surprise. He's a fan, through and through.

I think that picture is early on in the day, so in the afternoon/early evening hours expect a lot more pedestrians in the area. But yeah, it's not going to be a complete mob scene in the surrounding areas.

OOh then let me take the chance to harass you too (Pittsburgh??? More like S***sburgh!) LOL j/k ... kind of I'm a die hard Cards fan!
Anyway, can't promise you'll be able to find tickets, but I would definitely give it a shot and I'd say your chances are pretty good.

You can always get tickets form the brokers near the Addison Red Line Station and yes it is better to wait until the 2nd-3rd even 4th inning to buy the tickets. The Cubs are basically sold out the rest of the year for every game except for some standing room and single tickets spread in different areas of the park for some games.
Try to go to the box office the day before and the day of the game and see what they have. Many times you can get lucky and they will have tickets.
*Mod ribbing on*
I myself have tickets for 2 Cubs-Cards games and will be very happy when the Cubs crush the Cards in my presence.

Oh no, no, no....let me please clarify. We saw the Cubbies vs. Cards a few weeks ago. So I don't care what you say about Pittsburg. We (my family, a group of about 18) were a nice sea of blue in the much BIGGER sea of red. We had fun anyway.
So I need to pay attention to when they clean the streets...they tow for that, too? I've experienced traveling to the south side car pound. Yikes, I never want to do that again.

No, you don't. They don't street clean on the weekend anyways, and when they do its only a ticket if you fail to move your car.
However, that would only affect you if you chose to street park in a city neighborhood anyways.

That's probably a big reason so many hotels are booked.

If we did park at Midway and hop the Orange line in, about how long do you think it would take to get to our hotel on State St.?
