Default How much to pay a dogwalker?

Hello all, I am hiring a dogwalker to walk my two dogs 3x/week. I will probably hire a high school kid because I can't afford a real dog walking service. From what I understand, a real service will cost me about $12/half hour. With 2 dogs, and lets say a discount rate of $15/walk 3x/week = approximately $180 a month.

My budget is closer to $75. Do you have a suggestion of what might be fair to a young kid in the neighborhood? I don't want to take advantage of the kid, but I'm thinking of offering $80/month for 3 20-25 minute walks/week. Do you think that is fair or too low?

For about one hour a week and figuring 52 weeks a year that makes for $18.46/hr, pretty generous in my book. I am guessing the kid is a full time student and does not need to file taxes, so that is quite a little sum for them...

Where do you live? I know a grown un-employed man who would do that!

But I think $75 a month would be more than enough to convince a kid to do that

While I would love to get someone that lives next door, I may not be that lucky. So I would assume a 5-10 minute commute each way. While I don't know anyone that is compensated for their travel time to and from work, I will factor it in, because I don't know anyone crazy enough to spend 15 minutes getting to a job that is only 20 minutes. But I like your responses anyways...$65/month would be a bit easier on my pocketbook.
