Also, wear a clerical collar with a clergy shirt and pretend to be an associate of father Phleger and you will be fine.

Ugh. The last thing that guy (Pfleger) needs is more attention.

I had no problem with Pfleger up until that fiasco a little while back. Funny thing is, I agreed with everything he said but thought it was inappropriate and disgusting that he said it at what was supposed to be a religious meeting.
Anyway, I won't be attending the parade this year (haven't been in years). My mom usually takes my kids so they won't have to miss out on all the fun.

Pfleger's an interesting guy. His heart is often in the right place, but he can't help himself in front of an audience. I didn't like his speech about Hillary Clinton, and I wasn't a Clinton supporter. I was always a little suspicious he was in this game for his own ego (or "martyr complex" if you will), and that speech confirmed it.

I have known the "father" is a corn flake for about 20 years. It is strange how his recent offensive comments are a shock to anyone to anyone in Chicago. He has been making stupid comments for as long as I can remember.

There are many speechs he has done in which after you listened to them you them you would not be so innocent with your view of him.
This clown has been around forever.

My apologies about Lansing. I do know some good people who still live there but even you would admit there are challenges.
Regarding Father Phleger, how can you support a piece of sh#t like that?
I HATE Hillary but how can you say that you agree with his speach that "Hillary is white and should be the nominee"? You said you agreed with what is said but not the forum. If this is true you are no better than jackson or sharpton (can't believe that guy got off the hook again for tax evasion today). I sincerely hope you are better than that.

I've only been paying attention to him for the last five years or so. Before that I always got him mixed up with "Slim" Coleman (who is actually worse). I do think Pfleger is trying to do what's right in his own mind, but he's just misplacing his energies. I don't think this is an innocent view of him. I also think Pat Robertson and Dick Cheney are trying to do what's right in their own minds, but I couldn't disagree with them more! The problem is when people become blind to other points of view. Pfleger has "bought the farm" with the path he has taken, and there's no turning back now. He's a true believer.

I respect the guy because he's not one of those "armchair Southside quarterbacks" telling these people what they should and shouldn't be doing to clean up their neighborhoods. He's been in the trenches with the people in one of the more dangerous neighborhoods of this city trying to do something instead of just condemning an entire race of people. He only gets on TV when he says something controversial or stupid. Now his entire career is marred by a few minutes of videotape.
