Default My friend used to live there

My friend used to Sublease from there - Great building, awesome apartment, great views. She loved it.

Are you new to the city? if so, there are two things to consider for this building:

1) Do you own a car? She had one, and she found city parking was awful (as it is in a lot of areas on the North Side-ish area). She had a suburban job and absolutely hated it, it was one of the reasons she moved out of Chicago, was her awful commute, so that's something to consider.

2) She told me that she was required to move-in and out on the weekday, that she would not be able to move-in on the weekend without paying extra money (this was several years ago, so it might have changed).

Either way, her Apartment at 21. W. Goethe was awesome - you could not ask for a better place to live in the Gold Coast, especially if you love that area!

Good Luck!

That depends... Are Beverly Hills and the upper east side of Manhattan bad areas?

Thanks for the info. I thought it was nice, which is why I can't believe there is a studio condo for sale for $114K. That sounds too low for such a good area.

Did they store radioactive waste there or something? Or is the past scene of a grisly crime?

There is a unit in my buidling where a guy blew his own head off with a gun, and it sold far below comps.

How much are the assessments? They may be really high.

They are $333. Total payment with mortgage, insurance assessment and taxes with 5% down is less than $1200.
