I've heard both Bloomingdale and North as the dividing line as well, though I can't imagine it matters too much.
I actually think the area between North and Bloomingdale has some of the nicest rehabs and new builds of the two neighborhoods, so I can imagine they'd both want to lay claim to it.
If North is indeed the boundary we're going with then I am in Bucktown, but I could throw a rock at Wicker Park.

Bloomingdale is the real border between Bucktown and Wicker Park, but everyone thinks it's North. I did some research into this when I lived in the neighborhood. Bloomingdale had been the traditional border between Wicker Park and Bucktown for decades, but Bucktown's real estate took off first. So real estate agents changed the map to have more real estate lumped in under the Bucktown name. Of course Wicker Park real estate is just as desirable as Bucktown now, but the neighborhood boundary has stuck. Now everyone just accepts North Avenue as the border.

I was paying $1500/month for a 2-bedroom 2-bath gut-rehabbed place in the heart of Wicker Park back in 2005. But the place was huge and had two levels (a duplex down). The landlord had two buildings right on the park, and was the best landlord I've ever had. I'll DM you the location and landlord's name if you want.

Avengerfire
Avengerfire,
The neighborhood map of Chicago in your link has Bloomingdale as the line between Bucktown and Wicker Park. Bloomingdale also separates Humboldt Park from Logan Square (not North Avenue, though North of North Avenue is 60647 and south is 60651). According to the official map which you have as your link the line is Bloomingdale.
A number of other neighborhood maps (not official ones) show North Avenue as the line. I guess it isn't that big of a deal but I would go with the map you have as your link, which makes Bloomingdale, not North Avenue the dividing line. Both Bucktown and Wicker Park are great areas, particularly in the area between North Avenue and Bloomingdale.

I would bet that nine of out ten Wicker Park and Bucktown residents consider the border to be North Avenue. But they are just wrong. It's like Lake View residents calling the neighborhood Lakeview. It's just so ubiquitous now that it will probably stick forever.

The average BT/WP resident isn't entirely at fault. The issue has to be addressed at the source, for example Dreamtown who also clearly states North Ave the border. The Not for Tourists Guide to Chicago says the same as well.

Lookout Kid is right
I have a friend who lives across the street from Chipotle in the old drum factory who refers to his neighborhood as Bucktown. Clearly, he is in Wicker Park. I don't even think he knows this and he has lived there for 4 years. He should know better as he is a commercial banker who works with me.

Once you get North of North along Damen it just feels more Bucktown-y (if that makes sense)
More shops, less bars.

Agreed. Lots of little independent botique shops. Atleast until you meet the underpass of the Kennedy.
