The fine for serving foie gras is like $250. They probably figure why not wait until they fine me, then stop.

Speaking from one who has the made the trip to Florida several times by car, I love Atlanta. Don't bet me wrong, the cities along the way are nice, but every time I go through Georgia we always hit Atlanta at night. It really makes the last leg worthwhile. The highway goes right through the city, and the buildings all seem to have this emerald glow coming from them. Your skyline is really great! At least at night.

In a word... yes. This is a 24-hour town that pipes down at night -- or at least at 2 or 3 am when the bars close -- but never really sleeps. The city and its people are always on the move, in transition from one place to another, from one thing to another.

Actually foie gras technically isn't on the menu. Chicagoans are much more clever than that. The law prohibits selling foie gras. Nothing says you can't give it away. So when you see it on the table, it's a complimentary appetizer, like a basket of rolls.

Chicago is NYC is LA fast. LA has I-5. Chicago has 5x that many freeways and it is not enough.

If you know what a meat locker is, Take a test drive. Dress in the warmest possible winter clothes with boots and a mink coat or Carhart jacket and pants, face cover, insulated hat and gleves. Now stand inside you commerical locker for an hour - and don't forget to move around. You'll either love Chicago winter for all the things you can do outside, or you'll curse the day you left Atlanta. They only way to escape the Artic air that come out of Canada is to live somewhere else.
