Has anyone else heard the airplanes whooshing by, practicing for the air and water show? It's so cool to watch out of my office, like a little introduction for the weekend. (Although a little scary because they sound so loud and seem closer than they are.)

I have never been to the Air and Water Show myself, is it fun? Would it be a good idea to bring a three year old (who loves airplanes?) Where's the best place to sit? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

It's loud, so if they don't like thunder they may be terrified. I'd say it's louder than thunder, actually.

The air show is always a good time if you enjoy sitting around, not doing much, and watching planes zip around and people fall from the sky (which I do). We always try to stay away from the beach since around 2 million other people enjoy watching it from there. we ususally try and find somebody with a good rooftop deck...but i am sure there are other spots that are less crowded where you can see more of the show. starts tomorrow at 3pm.

Yea, I ate along the river and they were doing some pretty low fly bys. The blue angels were wizzing by our office window in formation a while back.

Personally, I find the A&W show to be way too crowded. A nightmare really. The practice days are preferable IMO.

I should have a good show from my office then. I look out over the Chicago River across from the new Trump Building. It's going to be hard to concentrate!
