TOP SCHOOLS IN CHICAGO (Pre-K to 6th grade)
Hello,
My husband and I have decided to stay in the city vs moving to Naperville (our other choice). We will live in the downtown area. Our son is 2 and I am in the process of researching preschools and elementary schools. I am a firm believer in the perks of a top notch education. I've narrowed my choices down to the following schools (Public and Private):
- University of Chicago Lab school
- Lakeshore Prep
- Francis Xavier Warde
- Skinner School
- Ancona
- Catherine Cook
- South Loop School
Some of these schools appear to have a competitive application process. Do you have to know someone to get into these schools ? Do you have a better chance if you are a minority? Is there anything a parent can do to ensure that their child will get accepted or to ensure that their child is "competitive"? Thanks.
