Irving Park is much better than Addison or Montrose. Hands down.
The only times it really sucks going east is during morning/evening rush hour or before Cub games. On the flip side of course it sucks going west after Cub games and during the evening rush. If it is not during those times-20 minutes to Broadway is not too far off the mark from the Irving Park neighborhood...

I drive this route constantly to and from the Kennedy, and you'll never make that bus trip in 20 minutes unless the streets are deserted! I challenge you to prove me wrong! Add wait times, and you're looking at some long commutes if you have walking on both ends.

I agree that Irving Park is the best east/west route in that area of the North Side, however. Peterson is up there too.

I have taken 80 and X80 during every part of the day and night many years and it rarely takes more than 30 minutes from the Blue line to Broadway.

Well I bet you either drive like an old lady or drive during the highest points of congestion.

I drive that route all the time also and about 15-20 minutes is the norm at all parts of the day. Sorry.

Is someone trying to sell their condo and/or real estate investments in Buena Park?haha

I dont see any other reason to hype up Buena Park as much as I have seen on here...

Now it's thirty minutes? That's more like it.

Nope, not selling. The guy's college is in Buena Park. Why wouldn't I recommend it? We really like it here. So do my neighbors.

Buena Park is a great place to live if you stay a bit south of Montrose and away from the liquor stores and U-Haul on Broadway.

30 minutes? It aint that big of a difference from 20 minutes. Big deal that is nothing. 20-30 minutes on the CTA is nothing.

The OP never said what times he would be traveling anyway. It is best to give him all the possibilities.

Well you are going to bail for Oak Park or Evanston in the next couple years so I am not too far off the mark.
