Neighborhood feel
This board has been a great resource for learning more about Chicago. By reading through different threads, I've got some neighborhoods in mind that sound good to me... I've decided it's probably going to be Lincoln Square, West Loop, Andersonville, maybe Bucktown area. These neighborhoods sound different, but each seems to appeal to my tastes for different reasons. Are there any links you've seen that provide a visual for the "feel" of these neighborhoods. I like what I'm reading, but being able to see pics somewhere would help me imagine living there. Thanks.

Have you tried just using Google Maps streetview?

I searched flickr when I was looking for neighborhood pics. I know there are several photos tagged lincolnsquare.

Not sure if this is Wicker Park or Bucktown, but that looks ideal.

Take the walk along Damen from Le Moyne to Wabansia. That's my favorite little strip.

Nice. This area looks great. Looks like it would be a pretty active spot at night.

It really is, but amazingly I live less than a block from the six corners intersection, and because of the buildings and the trees, it's serene as can be! This was one of my biggest worries with the neighborhood, because while I like to enjoy myself on the weekends, I gotta get up in the mornings and earn the scratch to pay for this place LOL!

It really is a fantastic area. Like aragx6, I was surprised by how quiet it is just a few blocks from that intersection (except when the L is passing through). I went to a show at Subterranean a few weeks ago, then walked to my friend's house a few blocks northwest of there. It was quiet as can be!

Since I'm on the east side of North I can't even here the el. It's actually quieter than my old neighborhood in Westmont that was off of two major roads believe it or not.

The Eisenhower is my front yard, so perhaps I have a warped view of quiet and you shouldn't listen to me. Michigan Ave. is quiet to me!
