I'll admit that I'm a bit of a rah-rah, but I have been all around the country and even to Italy, and no city I've ever seen could EVER compare to sweet home Chicago!!!
We've got it all, strong traditions, cool architecture and a distinctive sense of "place", a strong economy.. and yet the world is at our doorstep if we need some ethnic food or a change of pace.
I mean sure, it's not all rosy. We've got our problems, like long, cold winters, a large homeless population, and some notoriously inefficient politics going on. But when you are a native like I am, you are sort of used to the problems and start to realize that these problems exist in any major city. Heck, even organized crime seems kind of endearing after 6 months in the Bland Heartland! LOL.
Come on everybody, rep your love for Chicago!

I don´t even live there but I hope I can establish my residence in Chicago one day.

It´s probably my favorite city on Earth.

I love Chicago too, I lived there all 27 years of my life till a month ago! I miss it a lot, but am loving owning a home with a mortgage of only $750/month out here in North Carolina! Can't say I will move back home unless I strike it rich.

Dreamingmark, I agree with you 100 percent. I have been all over and seen clone after clone of cities but there is only one Chicago and I think it is by far the best place around.

Actually, the cold winters keep our homeless population relatively low. Places like San Diego and San Francisco have more than double the homeless population of Chicago by some estimates, even though they are smaller cities! That's what warm weather and overly tolerant attitudes will get you!
