Ah, and here's another little "hmmm..." Back when I had more time and fuel didn't cost 742 bucks a gallon, I used to be actively involved in the rallycross scene here in the Chicago region. There's a pretty big contingent of Polish guys who also attend these events. They'd show up in a fleet of brand new WRXs and STis and Evos... about $150,000 worth of cars -- many of them brand new. And they'd go out and beat the hell out of these brand new cars on the rallycross course. Some of their cars were fully SCCA rally-prepped, a process that runs another 30 or 40 grand. And every few months there'd be a different set of brand new cars that they'd show up with and flog to death. I always did wonder where the hell they got all the money to buy these brand new $30,000 cars every few months or so. Maybe they're frugal everywhere else in their lives or something. But it always did make me wonder.

For Milwaukee try a auto/repair store. The guys were Russian and they were very suspicious in their build. They looked like army guys and from what I remember in Italy. They dressed just like redfellas. And that is wearing jeans and a flanel shirt. I know that real russian gangsters are russian special forces. Those guys have a body like an athelete and wear pretty plain clothing nothing that draws attention. I also remember that in HS some girl wanted to have sex with me. She even said it in those words. A couple of weeks later she came to school with a broken arm.

I've had some strange run-ins with Russians in another Midwestern city that I'm actually too spooked to post too many details about. Several years ago I had a sublet with a couple of Russian guys, and some of the stuff they were doing was extremely fishy. They were dirt poor, but suddenly one day had a huge amount of cash. That's all I'll say about that.

I wonder what their trades are? A big trade of theirs could be smuggling heroin from Eastern Europe. Most heroin these days comes from Afghanistan, transported through countries like Russia, to various ports in Europe. The human trafficking is a significant thing... it's estimated that over 10,000 people are trafficked into the USA each year. Worldwide, most women trafficked for prostitution come from Eastern Europe.

Human trafficking is what I've heard/seen the most and there's areas in Milwaukee where this is obvious at certain clubs and bars.

In some neighborhoods it does. The book "Off The Books" talks about it happening in Bronzeville. They'll extort anyone they can. Not just legit business, but individual people who do small services like cooking lunches or oil changes.

I am also but I'll post this little rumor anyway. There's a nightclub in Milwaukee(Aqua) and it's connected to a hotel and rumor has it that some Russians have "moved" in and they have their girls "working" the bar and using the hotel room for a place to take men or women these days. Now the club is under a new name Aura on Astor and State Street on Milwaukee's Lower East side. Apparently the owner couldn't get the group of guys to leave and stop their activity and rumor has it he had no choice to let them do what they want to. All of a sudden two new Russian bars just opened up at the same time in Downtown Milwaukee although they don't advertise as being Russian bars but you can tell once you go there for a night when your the only people speaking english. A lot of Russians in Milwaukee also hang out in the Serbian bars/clubs(ie. MOCT, Dynasty Lounge, StarBar, Razor Room, 720.)
