Chicago Community Colleges
Anyone know any info on the community colleges Chicago has to offer? I've searched cityofchiago.org but I didn't find much info.
What's a good one to enroll in?

They are great schools for getting the prerequisites out of the way if you plan to go on to a 4 year school. Also, they offer some excellent complete programs in certain fields (for example, RN).
Truman College on Wilson and Broadway right at the Red Line has a good reputation. I am less familiar with the others.

Here's the main website to the City Colleges of Chicago. I think they're all relatively similar to each other.
Welcome to the City Colleges of Chicago

ccc.edu is the website for all of the City Colleges of Chicago.
They are located throughout the city, so your location may determine which is best for you.
Kennedy-King has a brand new campus ('07), but is in a rough neighborhood -- Englewood.
Harold Washington College is centrally located downtown.
Truman is relatively highly regarded by many and is located in an area convenient to where many transplants land when they move to Chicago (North Side)
Wright is the best for transfer students. While it offers the same technical certificate programs as the other city colleges, a larger segment of the student population there vs. the other schools is interested in transferring to 4-year schools.
At any of these schools, register early and generally try to take classes being taught by full-time professors vs. adjunct lecturers. There are some good adjunct lecturers, but the full-time professors will generally offer a better educational value.

I think that they call them "Jr" colleges, not "community colleges" there.

No, they are no longer called Junior Colleges. They are called City Colleges now.
It has been quite a few years since they were called Junior Colleges.
