Default Chicago's Up and Coming Neighborhoods?

I have a question what are Chicago's next Wicker Park or Lincoln Park?
we all know about Pilsen and the South Loop but what are the sections nobody's is talking about now that will be in 5 years??? or what area is close but yet still hasn't arrived as Chicago's newest and hottest area to live?

Predictions????

If I wanted to move into an up and coming area I would choose the Woodlawn neighborhood between 63rd and 67th east of Cottage Grove (especially just south of Mt. Carmel). I didn't see this mentioned in the posts above. It hasn't totally turned the corner yet and thus is still priced well. In 5-10 years it will be a different place (as it is now compared to what it was 10 years ago). Hyde Park is too expensive now and University community is pushing south to find affordable housing. That area is so close to UofC that it's too valuable not to be in high demand. You would have to be a bit of a pioneer though as there are still occasional shooting. UofC police station will be setup on 64th and Drexel in the coming year and a new 1000-student dorm is being built on 61st and Ellis.

Why not just add to the old post instead of taking this new one further...

for the 'next big thing', just go to your nearest 'big thing' neighborhood, and then go a little south, north, east, or west, till you are in a neighborhood that youve maybe heard of, but not gone to because its 'violent' or 'inconvenient' or you just have nobody and no reason to go.

this will be the next neighborhood in 5 years. Chicago is growing at an exponential rate, and its only a matter of time, 5 or 10 years, for most every neighborhood.

So by this logic, try humboldt park (already well underway) and bridgeport to start....

you looking for property investment or something?

I've noticed on this forum that people tend to complain when an old thread gets "bumped".

I think people tend to complain when something gets bumped when it drudges up a very heated arguement that died some time ago just for the point of drudging it up....not asking futher questions on a topic.....

Or when someone offers advice on where someone should move after 6 months plus. The assumption being that it's a bit late lol.
