Where did you get 93% black from ? That is totally wrong. Yes there are neighborhoods that are 93% black , but thats not the whole southside. People forget that the Southweside is part of the Southside too. the Southwestside have a strong Mexican presence; including some south suburbs like Blue Island, Posen, & Chicago Heights.

That's "south of 55th st." The Southside starts well north of that.

You like to find a way to mention Obama every time you can; do you not?
Will you stop with the political crap? Come on.
Do not say on the verge. It is one thing to be confident, but another to speak in absolutes. I thought John Kerry was supposed to win for sure.
What happens if Obama loses? Are you going to cry and moan for four years like Dems did after the last two elections?

bluchidog- I think that things may have changed more than a bit since the last census. When I was taking a good hard look at Garfield Ridge, Clearing, and Archer Heights I found that it was much more Hispanic than those stats. Brighton Park and Gage Park are almost exclusively Hispanic it seems. I'd say that at least 30-40% of the first 3 neighborhoods I mentioned are Hispanic now. I'm eager for the new census to come our way, because I think the South Side has added a ton of new Hispanics

Yeah, those stats are from the year 2000. I was just trying to make a point to some people that the whole southside is not all exclusively black.

Yes, I will. But mostly I'll hope for a meteor or lightning to hit Sarah Palin. I can't take four years of that accent, and I'm from Wisconsin! (I kid, I kid!)

All politics aside,Obama, like Mayor Daley, has become a Chicago institution. I'm not going into an extended partisan rant for Obama/anti-McCain, so I don't think merely mentioning his name is an exercise of political speech.
You're right about being overconfident about the future. I'll amend and extend my remarks to say that I believe he has a statistically very high probability of becoming the next president of the United States.
