Very funny. I didn't understand why most of the whites left. It seemed that they all went west soon after that. I was shocked when I found out one couple went even further south to Oak Forest.

When I lived in Chicago people were proud of their heritage be it black or Italian. I had friends on the south side who had a mixed marriage and pretty little girl. They only time anyone paid much attention to me is when the youngster and I walked. They were not looking at me, they were watching the kid. There were a 1000 eyes in the 'hood that watched until we went in the house. It was a very good thing. What the h3ll happened?
