^ I live a few blocks from there. That area is totally fine, near a ton of stuff, the train, buses, etc.

It's safe. Lakeview.

Move in, we'll go get blacked out drunk off margaritas. yay!

I assume you're using Craigslist?

$600 a month is totally do-able, you just might have to hunt around a bit more. Keep chugging along though....they're out there.

It is in East Lakeview. I know that area very well. I would go for it. How much is it?

its 695 which would be fine if it included heat and what not but it turns out that it doesnt I did find a really great looking place at 422 W. Melrose for 680 that includes heat though. Is that a good area as welll? Its in Lakeview. Should i generally just consider lakeview a safe area? Thats what it seems to me from hearing people talk.

422 W. Melrose is a bit better in my mind in terms of safety than the Dakin address.

You must realize though crime happens everywhere. Many young nice looking women live in Lake View; thus at times it draws people that will attempt to prey on them. As long as you are not out alone very late at night (or at night in general in the winter) and not going to be walking around on drugs or drunk, Lake View is decent in terms of safety.

I think you can find a place for way less than 680 that has heat included.

Do you have a car? If you do, parking is HORRIBLE around 422 W. Melrose.

no car, so thats no issue. I know that in any big city you need to use your sense i just want to make sure im in a good area. so if thats the case, then thats good news.

and your right i probably could find somewhere cheaper but the problem is that im looking for about a 6 month lease which seems to be pretty difficult. so my options are a little more limited.

^^Six month leases are nearly impossile to come by in this city. Any reason you can't say a 12 month lease??

Humbolt Park and Logan Square is ok. I live by the edge of Humbodlt Park - 2 blocks from Western Ave. I go to a park in Humbolt Park for bike owrkouts after work. If lots of women live in these areas, why can't you? And you probably can find an independent house owner that would rent you no lease! - That's how I rent now in Houston !

I am 18 and dont have established credit so I am having to use my parents as a cosigner and theyd rather not do a 12 month lease. So im mainly using the sublet section on craigslist which is why the 680 a month at 422 melrose seems like the best bet because its the most inexpensive in the area that im looking in, and the lease is up in april.
