Is Bridgeport still racist ?
In 2008, Bridgeport became racially diverse with a large number of hispancs and Asians and no longer majority white, but still only 1% black. The question is; despite Bridgeport being racially diverse now, is the neighborhood still racist and anti-black?

Like I pointed out in the other thread, that kid was not jumped in Bridgeport, he was jumped in Armour Square, which is about 20% white.

I think there were more Whites there in 1997 than 20%. Now there are more Asians then there used to be. |

Armour Square is a bit of a strange area since it's basically divided in three. North of 26th is Chinatown, between 26th & Sox Park culturally has been considered Bridgeport for many years, and some maps reflect this. It's also the whitest part. It's more Chinese than white, but there is still a good number of Italians and Croatians there. (Also, there is some senior public housing on Wentworth.) The part south of Sox Park, is mostly black, and consists of low rise public housing, I believe.

Most of the interracial crime in Chicago is black on white, while ive never heard of any of those being labled as hate crimes, id say its a long shot to say none were. So you may say bridgeport is racist to blacks, its more correct to say most of the black majority areas are racist to whites if you look past the PC BS.

The majority of the Asians in Bridgeport are concentrated on the North Eastern end, near Chinatown. I know quite a few people in Bridgeport and the majority of them have little, if no interaction with the Asian community. There is more interaction between assimilated Hispanics and Whites in Bridgeport.
