Probably never. If it indeed gets built I would not expect it to open for at least a year.

A Target in West Pullman? That's got to be a little odd.

Is that officially West Pullman? I thought of it more as East Morgan Park getting sort of close to Blue Island (about a mile away). Not a great area but no so bad. The shopping complex though (including Staples, Jewel, Target, etc.) is a world of its own -- totally new construction, huge new parking lot, powerful flood lights, very spacious, good security. Mostly middle-class blacks , about 10% white and 10% Mexican. For some reason everyone acts like their in Disney World, so nice and helpful and polite. I have to say though reputation notwithstanding people in West Pullman have all treated me very well also (I take the metra electric train to the 107th st. stop in the evening).

According to the Chicago map, I-57 & 119th is West Pullman. West of Western is apparently East Morgan Park?

Either way, I've only been down there a few times. It my stupidity, I mistook West Pullman for Pullman when trying to find the historic Pullman company neighborhood. Although, it sounds like if there is some big box stuff there, that's good.

I believe that is a mistake. Morgan Park should extend to I-57 at 119th. It goes well east of Western.

lol, West Pullman is definitely not Pullman.

thanks for sending this. The streets aren't clearly superimposed, but it appears that near I-57 119th is the north-south dividing line between West Pullman and Morgan Park. The shopping complex is just north of 119th and just west of I-57, so I would say that it is officially Morgan Park. I didn't realize at all though that south of 119th West Pullman stretched so far west. Not that those neighborhood boundaries really mean much--the relatively good/bad stretches cut right across them. Morgan Park e.g. ranges from beautiful (looks just like Beverly) to a bit of a disaster depending on how far west you are.
