As I was doing research on the above story, I found a story about a woman that fell or was pushed out a window there in Sept. 2007. I did not hear about this incident at the time it occured.

WBBM 780 - Story

I wonder how many people die there each year?

Truly disturbing.
Shiller is protecting this place for some weird reason. There was a community meeting last year regarding some problems at the Hotel, and Shiller got her knickers in a bunch INSISTING that it wasn't a referendum on closing the place. If this is the Shiller model for affordable housing, we should all be very affraid. What a joke!

I just may show up at that meeting in Lake View and give her some heat on this issue.

Where was this community meeting last year at?

Can't remember. It might have been at Faith Tabernacle Church. They open their doors for a lot of community meetings, including CAPS.

I've actually been inside that building once chasing after a guy who stole my 40 ounces from the liquor store across the street. I stormed in there and everyone, including the employees, either is or has been a junkie, you can just tell from the look of the people. It was one of the most disgusting places I've ever seen, it was like the twilight zone. I just had to let the liquor go and leave, who knows what could have happened if I actually went upstairs.
