Chicago Nightlife
Hi ,I am a 24 yr old straight male living in Chicago.
I would like to know which is the best bars/clubs/discs to meet singles and possibly hook up for a date. I have tried a few in Rush and Division but didn't find anything satisfactory.

There is no comparison, I'm not kidding. I'm born and raised in San Diego, go back there every year and there is no "city life" in San Diego. And by city life I mean you can't walk around the way you can in Chicago. Now, I don't hang out in every single spot obviously and I'm married so I don't know what the dating opportunities are for singles but I know the gas lamp district where I often go to meet friends when I visit is a cute little TINY spot. You can do a bit of bar hopping but there is no comparison and it's downtown and not too desirable of an area to walk around late at night if you venture past it. Any other places I go to meet friends it's like we have to go to THAT bar, get in our car, go to the next, etc etc - you can't just hang out and walk around from spot to spot. I hate that.
Maybe there are some areas that are a little more lively but I do know my way around San Diego like the back of my hand, haven't run into any area at all that compares to Chicago living/nightlife.
JMO, I'm in my late 30's so who knows, maybe I'm not up on all the "new hip happenings" but I'll be surprised if anyone who knows Chicago and San Diego will say you'll find the same environment.

I'm not into nightclubs much, but in Chciago I'd go to a big mainstream one like Excaliber. Hard to find parking there though.

I'm 22 and I dont know about san diego but chicago has a huge nightlife...as far as where u can hook up that can be anywhere depending how forward you are, confident, good looking etc... any wrigllyville bar is like a meat market for the most part...then theres some clubs...such as crobar, sound-barr, funky buddah lounge, stone lotus, climax, the underground, krem, rednofive, nacional 27, vision, moda, republic, transit...etc theres a ton of places to go out dance,and hook up if u will...anyway theres something for everyone in chicago  |
