I found a lot of great places in the neighborhood that really surprised me. I'd be happy to send you info of restaurants, etc if you want. And my neighbors are great! I love it! I lived in Lakeview for 2 years in Chicago, downtown for 2, and Buena Park for 1, so I actually wasn't thrilled about moving up here, but I'm really glad we did!

I'll be on Granville, just a few steps away from Clark. I thought we'd end up in Lakeview or something, but when I saw this area, it seemed like a lot less of a culture shock for us. Coming from suburban Ohio, we want to be in the city, but we value things like the ability to be able to sleep. I have a friend in Lakeview who is so used to sleeping with earplugs at home that he just needs them wherever he goes. ha.
Any information would be great! I know there's a Thai place closer to the red line that we debated stopping at when we were in the area, but we weren't sure how it would be. I have since heard it's pretty good. Any parks in the area where we could let our dog run around, on leash? I know there aren't any off leash parks nearby, but he even likes to just roll around in grass.

Thai Spice is on Devon, around 1300W that is really good. There is also the indie cafe on north Broadway (around 5900) that has a great lunch special, and serves both Thai and Sushi. There is also Thai Grille on Granville, east of the red line, so that may be the place that you are referring to.
There are no technical dog parks in the area, but there is an unofficial dog park on Bosworth, one block north of devon. It is fully fenced in and the person running it is trying to get it to be an official dog area (it's called Bosworth Dog Park). The only major issue is that there are no double gates and some not so great dog owners that will let out other dogs when they leave.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
How about West Lawn? I passed by there yesterday evening and it looked nice. Saw quite a few Mexicans around that area.
I'll try to get to Albany Park sometime this weekend before I go back to Mexico. Is Albany Park majority Mexican or other Hispanic neighborhood, like Puerto Rican or Columbian? Sorry if I sound like I don't like other Hispanics, but it's because I'm still trying to sell this move to my wife. I want her to be very comfortable and be able to talk to the neighbors or walk around the area without fearing something might happen to her.

Mexican/Mexican-Americans make up the majority of the hispanic population in Chicago and suburbs. I think Humboldt Park and Logan Square are the only two that are majority/largely Puerto Rican neigborhoods in Chicago. Albany Park is Mexican and Korean with Lawerence Ave. is known as the Koreatown in the area but you stiil will find alot of Mexican owned businnesses in Albany Park too.

Albany Park isn't really majority anything; but if I had to guess the majority of Hispanics in the area are Mexican. And unfortunately your instincts are not terribly off the mark; Mexicans and Puerto Ricans don't get along very well in this town, which is why I suspect nobody recommended the Humboldt Park or Logan Square neighborhoods.

Albany Park, that's my hood. Ay muchos hispanos, along with many other cultures so you can enjoy them as well. It's pretty nice.

There is really no Majority. There are those from Ecuador, guatemala, Puerto Rico, Salvador, Mexico, Cuba, etc.
